Restoration Time-Lapse: MOPAR 440 V-8 Engine & Vintage Ford Race Car | Redline Rebuild

Restoration Time-Lapse: MOPAR 440 V-8 Engine & Vintage Ford Race Car | Redline Rebuild

When we first met Snowball Bishop (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9s6CFUBq3I) and saw his old Ford coupe dirt track racer he had sitting behind his barn, we knew we had to see it back on the track. After some unfortunate delays and a good bit of blood, sweat, and tears, this Chrysler-440-V8-powered race car is back to its former glory. It may be a handful on the corners, but hearing it rip up the track again after a 50-year hiatus is the stuff dreams are made of. Follow along as we give this project our legendary Redline Rebuild time-lapse treatment and show you every single step it takes to completely rebuild a classic Mopar V-8 engine and “restore” the hacked-together Ford coupe Modified it powers.

  2. One of the best rebuild videos I have ever seen👍👍👍

  3. I kinda hate how I understood everything that was happening due to rebuilding a 440 Hemi engine in Car Mechanic simulator 2021 lol. Fair play the game recreates the engine very well.

I love complete engine work 👍

  12. I’m more impressed by the animation effect than the restoration

  13. Do you have twin disc 8501 series gearbox and Allison 4700,4800 gearbox for sale? Both old and broken ones are fine!

Reminds me of watching my dad rebuilding the stock car engine and dropping it in just before raceday as a kid😅

  17. Was one of the valve guides sat slightly proud?!

  18. A Ford car with a Chrysler engine

  19. @overcastfriday81 March 14, 2025 at 10:20 am

To me, building a 440 "race" engine but using 906 or 452 heads (instead of aluminum) is like getting married but skipping the honeymoon. Actually, it’s 10x worse. But perhaps the race rules being targeted do not allow that sort of upgrade.

  20. Great, now I need a dirt track racer!

  21. Such a nice engine – wasted in such a crap vehicle

  22. @aaronferguson1772 March 14, 2025 at 10:23 am

  24. @charliemancuso5690 March 14, 2025 at 10:27 am

Great video! Totally enjoyed the time lapse build but gotta salute the video editor for the animation parts. That must have taken hours for all those parts. Great job.

  29. I have so many questions for those camera tricks with your editor, how can I reach them? Like the bolts and tape moving by itself and stuff

  30. Very crazy ⚡

  31. @MitchJohnson-uu5uf March 14, 2025 at 10:33 am

Forgot to put high temp rtv/pipe dope on the manifold studs, not all the studs had blind holes on the old mopar engines. Awesome video though.

  32. If you’re interested in how much power this engine made, check out this video: https://youtu.be/5HggzAgdNto
Some of you may have noticed that the engine changed a tiny bit from when we were done in the shop to when we were on the track. Well, we made some upgrades and gained some horsepower and torque. Check out the video!

  50. Hello my father is really interested in where you got your Engine mount, that allows you to start the engine without it being mounted in an engine bay.
