If you take the dispenser draw out of the machine and clean it. Then, place it in the drum, then you wouldn’t have to go through all this work. This person is lazy. Why wait so long to do this? Moreover, the mold is due to the softener. Use vinegar instead.
On my 8 year old Samsung washer, I just run the drum clean cycle every month or so. The water gets surprising dirty and foaming from running the cycle. As per instruction, I don’t use any chemical in the drum. It’s just heat, water, and drum agitation at work.

this is not deep clean, you should open the top and them can remove completely the soap tray…

Guys, this is what happens when you use only liquid detergents, wash at low temperatures, and do not leave the machine’s door ajar.
She just managed to scrubb the visible dirt, but I can assure you that inside the machine there probably is tons of maleodorant gunk.
The solution? Use just powder detergent, wash at minimum 40°C, and was at least once per week at 60°C.
I, 10 years into using the machine, didn’t even realise you had to clean the pump filter – once a *MONTH!* 😲
I did it last night & it wasn’t actually too bad.
Ps. You should have had a drain hose where you opened the access hatch up. Stops a lot of water coming out when you take out the actual filter l. 👍

You don’t have to fill the tray. Half a cup is already generous for a full machine.

Deep cleaning means taking it all apart and really cleaning everything nook and cranny not just wantever you can reach with a small untensil
