Awesome video and suggestions! Did you use the pet resistant screen or just the regular type?

  4. Thank you sir for taking the time to help others!

  5. Helpful & much appreciated. Thank you.

  6. Thanks! I did everything WRONG. Bought the yellow tool….. Didn’t even know about the clips ….. bought ROUND spline instead of the flat kind… And resorted to superglue to get the round spline to hold. Now going back to the hardware store for the proper stuff I need.

  7. Omg. I need those clips. Arrrrrrrr. Lol. What a pain this is

    muito bom. obrigado !!!!

  10. Thank You so much! This is probably the tenth video I have watched; this is clear, including helpful arrows and tips!

  11. Thank you…I need to replace a few of these and this helps! And yeah, FL humidity is crazy (writing this in August)

  12. Thanks for the video. I replaced a couple of pool cage screens today and your video was invaluable! And great suggestion for the screen installer clips – those made it so much easier!

  13. As a person who had to replace all the screen panels on my pool cage after my cat made a habit of chasing squirrels who liked to torment her, and put a lot of holes in the screens. You installed the screen perfectly. I used plastic clips I bought on Amazon. The spline must be installed flat side in. Otherwise, over time it pops out. Start at any corner and go all the way around, you can pull on the screen to take up slack also, it makes the screen nice and tight. Anyone can do this, I’m 71 and just did 4 panels that were damaged from the hurricane in Florida

Thank you, this video helped me today. I liked that you were very detailed .

  15. Do you HAVE to replace the spline?

  16. These CLIPS are the most important part for a single guy trying to replace a large screen panel. Not sure what the clips grab onto, or why Home Depot doesn’t sell them. I’ve tried duct tape, but it never works for larger, heavier screen panels.

  17. Disclaimer I have never done this, but – when installing the spline I would think you’d want to install the top first, the side second it was the time shifting from one side to the other until you reach the bottom. Seems to me this would keep it as taught as possible.

  18. This is the best diy screen repair tutorial of all time. Bravo 👏

  19. What’s really important here is that the spline grooves in the aluminum extrusion are different than those of a common screen door. So that’s why the d-shaped spline is needed.

  20. Nice job!! you’ve given me hope that I might be able to do this 😎

  21. Great video, Thanks

  22. Very good, precise and not long winded!

  23. Screen clips were a game changer…thanks for the tip. Great video!

  24. Thank You For This. I now know what I need to do!!

  25. Thank you SO much for this tutorial. Your personal experience tips are invaluable and I got really good results. I really appreciate the help!

  26. Thanks for this concise, direct video! I ordered the same clips you recommended and just did my first panel—it all worked just as you described!
